If you haven't seen it on TV or read it in any of the major
magazines, kiteboarding is the fastest growing extrememe
sport in the world. They say it is growing faster than skateboarding,
surfing or any other extreme sport out there.
Now
skiers, snowboarders and mountaineers have realized the
potential of using kites to cross long distances and reach
new heights in record time. The backcountry scene is rapidly
growing. The most aggressive snowkiters are slowly being
drawn to the flying aspect. They use the kites to climb
the mountain, turn around and then peel away from the face
of the slope, sometimes reaching heights of 150 feet with
flights exceeding 90 seconds.
Learning to snow kite is fun, easy and very accessible.
No more lift tickets or lift lines. Just throw on a snowboard
or skis, grab your kite and find a frozen lake or field
with snow, and you will soon be cutting your way through
powder trails.
